30th Anniversary Edition. Deluxe packaging with 20 page colour booklet featuring rare photos and firsthand essay in gatefold fold-out card case with pop-up artwork. Recorded live at Gizah Sound & Light Theater, Cairo, Egypt (9/15-16/78). PA System & Recording Equipment provided by The Who. Stereo & 5.1 Mix at Garage Audio, Petaluma, CA. Concert Video Post-Production at Video Arts, San Francisco. Concert Video Mastering at Airshow Mastering. Audio Restoration at Plangent Processes. DVD Extra Feature: "The Vacation Tapes". The Vacation Tapes were shot on Super 8 Film by Grateful Dead manager Richard Loren and others as a way to document the band, crew, family and friends' trip to Egypt. Tracks CD1-1 & CD1-6 recorded 9/15/78. All other tracks recorded 9/16/78. Stereo PCM. 5.1 Surround. "Stagger lee", Ollin Arageed" & "Fire On The Mountain" were first issued as bonus tracks on the reissue of the album "Shakedown Street", included in the boxed set "Beyond Description (1973-1989)", Grateful Dead Productions/Rhino #76491 (10/04).
