This entry is for the original 1995 pressing of this release, which is distinguished by the following: MASTERED BY CAPITOL in deadwax. Very heavy vinyl (over 200 grams). Orange, oval sticker on shrink which says "The Impulse! Reissue Series: Remastered original analog recording on limited edition heavy virgin vinyl; Original gatefold design; Custom packaging; Rare photos from original negatives; Original liner notes."

Subsequent pressings were recut from unknown source (the Wally version was from analog), like [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/3313670]Back to Black Series Issue[/url] and [url=http://www.discogs.com/release/5364985]that[/url] [any new copy--i.e. almost everything listed for sale under the GR-155 catalog number is almost definitely the repress.] Most feature a black/gold sticker declaring 180 gram.

Original introduction written by John Coltrane, a brief essay written in 1995 by Michael Cuscuna, and the poem "A Love Supreme" by Coltrane printed therein.
