Additional Information

Comments The Miasma Fragments project began in 1990 as a premiere for the National Convertion of the Organ Historical Society in Milwaukee, WI. Scored for the specific capabilities of the organ at St. Anthony's Church in Addison Township, WI, "For the Cherub Cat is a Term of the Angel Tiger" was composer Sigmund Snopek's first work for the pipe organ. The success of this compostion and the challenges of writing for the highly evocotive voice of the pipe organ led Snopek to produce this highly individual collecion of modern works over the next eight years.

This collection uses the prodigious range and coloration of the pipe organ to express both abstract andn programmatic themes.

Scores for these works and many other compositions are available for performance at Snopek's web site www.sigmundsnopek.com. Thanks to the people at Immaculate Heart of Mary, Chilton, WI, and in particular Father Gary. Thanks also to J. C. Taylor.
