Additional Information

Comments Rick van der Linden led the Dutch art rock band Ekseption during most of its existence, but this is one of the weakest LPs under his leadership. The album is used as a vehicle for a very dumb story about time travel, with mixed helpings of instrumentals by the leader or his reworkings of great composers like Bach, Tchaikovsky, or Albinoni. It segues unexpectedly into a jazz setting, bursts of pipe organ, or bland arrangements of well-known classical works, never really achieving any continuity. As a result, the whole suite will likely fail to impress even the biggest fans of this band, which had more success in Europe than in the New World. This long unavailable record can safely be bypassed.
