Comments Mind Games var det fjerde albumet til John Lennon etter at The Beatles brøt opp. Dette var det andre albumet, etter Imagine, uten Yoko Ono. Etter det sterkt poltitiske albumet Some Time in New York City ble dette et langt mer poporientert album.[1]
Albumet startet det som Lennon omtalte som hans «Lost Weekend», en atten måneder lang periode der han ikke hadde kontakt med Yoko Ono. Albumet manglet en fellesnevner, og er blitt oppfattet å ha en rekke fyllsanger.[2]
