Comments Living in the Past er et dobbelt samlealbum utgitt av Jethro Tull i juni 1972. Samlingen består av albumspor, singler, to konsertspor og avsluttes med EPen Life Is a Long Song.[1]
De fire første albumene er representert med ett spor hver, som ikke alltid er blant de mer berømte fra albumene.
Etter at Jethro Tull slo igjennom i USA med Aqualung i 1971, og Thick as a Brick toppet listene i juni 1972, ble denne samlingen satt sammene av flere utgivelser fra før Aqualung, og som ikke var tilgjengelige i USA, pluss et fotoalbum.[2]
«Just Trying to Be» og «Wond'ring Again» er fra juni 1970 og var tidligere ikke utgitt noe sted. Konsertsporene på side tre fra Carnegie Hall, 4. november 1970 ble senere utgitt på Stand Ups deluxe-utgave i 2010.
Alle albumene til Jethro Tull utenom debutalbumet This Was hadde tidligere også vært topp 5 på VG-lista.[3] Living in the Past nådde 8.-plass i Storbritannia[4] og 3.-plass i USA i 1972.
