The idea was to capture a selection of songs, not as a band but solo and if we were lucky maybe have a live album at the end of it. So this is the first solo album I've released…well other than my old busking tape. It's live, warts n'all but it's a moment in time I enjoyed and am proud to share with ya'll. It's also a great pleasure to be collaborating with Oxfam and many other NGOs to continue to bring attention to the CLOSE THE GAP campaign. Check it out and get involved. peace, JB" "$1 from the sale of this CD will be donated to the 'Close The Gap' campaign" "Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people die on average 17-years younger than other Australians. With an average life expectancy for Aboriginal men at 59 years of age, an Aboriginal boy born today can expect to have a shorter life than a boy born in Bangladesh." "Australia-wide however Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities are taking action to improve the health and wellbeing of their own people through successful Indigenous run health services. With adequate government funding and long-term commitment these successful programs could be extended to other Aboriginal communities." "Australians around the country have called for an end to the 17-year life expectancy gap within a generation. It is a challenge we can meet. It is time to close the gap." "Join other Australians committed to closing the gap at www.oxfam.org.au/closethegap" "All music © John Butler 2007" "This is an independent release" "Exclusively licensed to Jarrah Records" "Printed on 100% recycled paper" "www.johnbutlertrio.com" MEDIA NOTES: "All music © John Butler 2007" "Exclusively licensed to Jarrah Records" |
