| Comments | This version does not have "Special" printed in the top right of the sleeve corner, both front and rear. There are other subtle differences. The 'Special' version can be found here: [r710841] First cat. num. on back sleeve and spine. Second cat. num, on labels. Runout strings are stamped. This is part of Polydor's Flashback Series launched in 1975. This was a series of budget compilations with the familiar photo negative motif on the front. There is no mention of Flashback on the cover or the label, alas. Original copies would have had a sticker with this fact on it. The LPs also do not carry a proper release date but instead repeat the original copyright date (in this case 1971) which causes confusion. This LP was actually released in 1975. The Flashback series ran 1975-78 approx and all major artists on Polydor have at least one Flashback album. |
