Texts from sleeve:

Jeff Healey performs with the fire of a rocker, the in-your-face passion of a bluesman, and the sweet soul of a honkytonker. His amazing chops have caused Stevie Ray Vaughan to insist, "Man, he is going to revolutionize the way the guitar can be played." And no less an authority than B.B. King has told him, "I've never seen anything like it. Your execution is the best I've ever seen. Stick with it, and you'll be bigger than Stevie Ray Vaughan, Stanley Jordan, and B.B. King."
Witnessing Jeff climax a concert with his searing "See The Light" is an experience few will ever forget. After sitting through most of the set with his Squire Strat held flat on his lap, the 22-years-old leaps to his feet, cranks up his Marshall's volume knob, and launches into a blistering bluesrock solo. He prowls the stage, fretting with his left hand over the fingerboard, creating one of the most wicked vibratos since Jimi Hendrix. Without missing a note, he picks with his teeth, then plays with his guitar swung upside down or held high overhead. Conjuring resplendent feedback, he drops his axe onto the stage and pumps its whammy with his foot. The frenzied roar of the crowd threatens to collapse the hall as he makes his way offstage.
Based in Toronto, Healey has played everything from jazz, reggae, and heavy metal to out-and-out R&B and country. Along the way, he's collected 10,000 historical jazz 78s and acquired a deep understanding of early blues. His love of country music is one of his earliest memories. " I lost my sight when I was one," he offers, "and got a guitar when I was three. I tuned it to a chord and used a slide, and then someone taught me standard tuning a few years later. I tried playing guitar the normal way, but I just wasn't very comfortable, so I decided to hold it on my lap and work out all my chords that way. I can use all five of my left-hand fingers for different types of vibrato. I do a lot of bending with my thumb and use it to hit notes above and beyond where you could normally reach."
Meeting each other at local jam sessions, The Jeff Healey Band came together in late 1985. Powerhouse dummer Tom Stephen gave up a promising position as an urban planner to devote himself full-time to the project, while rock-steady bassist Joe Rockman left behind the security of a successful career in the studios and stages of Toronto.
Canadian headlines have proclaimed Jeff Healey " a marvel of speed," " another Hendrix," and " a guitar wizard." With this debut album and his starring role in the upcoming UA Film, "Road House," Jeff Healey shows the whole why.
